Trades and workshops

Give the work another way in

Word of mouth works until it slows, and then there is no other door. The urgent phone search is the second channel, and it has no monthly fee.

The work arrives by word of mouth. It works, it is cheap, and it has kept the workshop going for fifteen years. The problem is that it has no steering wheel: when word of mouth slows down, there is no other door for anything to come through.

Meanwhile the person with a leak at nine at night is searching on their phone for somebody from their own street. That search isn’t won by whoever has the prettiest website: it is won by whoever shows up, says which areas they cover, and answers.

We work with car, motorbike and bike workshops, locksmiths, electricians, plumbers, HVAC installers, carpenters, glaziers, painters and building firms. The brief is usually the same: get work coming in through some door that isn’t a brother-in-law.

What we build for a workshop or a trade

A page per service and per area, without duplicating

Nobody searches for “refurbishment”. They search “replace bath with shower in Sabadell” at ten at night. Every service and every area you genuinely cover gets its own page, with what it costs and how long it takes — and none of them is the same page with the name changed.

  • One page per service, with an indicative price and a real lead time
  • One page per area you actually travel to, not per town on the map
  • Photos of your own jobs, with the before and after and what was underneath
  • Service and area-served structured data, so you can show on the map

Quotes with photos, which is how you filter out bad work

Half an hour of driving to look at something a photo would have answered is half an hour you don’t bill. The form asks for photos, measurements and the address, and it arrives on your phone in order — not as a two-line email.

  • Photo and short-video upload from the customer’s phone
  • Questions branching by job type, so you don’t have to ring to ask the basics
  • Instant notification to your phone, with the address already as a map link
  • A written quote in reply — which in some trades is a legal requirement anyway

Showing up when somebody is searching in a hurry

The urgent search happens on the map and is decided in thirty seconds. It is won with a finished Google profile, real opening hours, and a phone number that dials in one tap straight from the result.

  • A Google Business Profile with the service area properly defined
  • Tap-to-call and one-tap WhatsApp from a phone
  • Real hours, out-of-hours included, and the days you don’t go out
  • Reviews asked for as the job finishes, which is when people actually write them

Being taken seriously before anyone has met you

In this trade the website doesn’t sell: it vouches. It shows you exist, that you are registered, that you are insured, and that you have done this before. That is what gets you picked over whoever is first in the list.

  • Qualifications, installer certificates and registration numbers where they apply
  • Public liability insurance, stated without a fuss
  • Jobs you have done, with the date and the place — not stock photography
  • Clear terms: call-out, minimum invoice, and the guarantee on the work
One project, with its numbers

HVAC and plumbing installer in Sabadell, two vans

All the work by referral, zero quote requests from the internet, and two bad months a year there was no way to fill. The brief was to open a second way in without starting to pay for ads every month.

Extended Arranca package shape, with service and area pages. Fixed quote in two working days

  1. Six service pages and four area pages, with indicative price and lead time
  2. A quote form with photos, measurements and address, to the phone instantly
  3. Google Business Profile with service area, out-of-hours times and real photos
  4. Installer certificates and insurance published, with their numbers
  5. Invoicing Verifactu-ready ahead of the date

What the rules require, and where they say it

You already meet half of these on paper. What we do is make the website say the same thing the paper does, which is where nearly everyone slips.

  • Written quote and deposit receipt, in vehicle workshops

A vehicle repair workshop must offer a written quote in advance, issue a deposit receipt, and display its prices and hours. If the quote comes out of the website, it has to carry what the paper one carries.

  • Legal guarantee on the repair and the product

The legal guarantee of conformity on goods sold to consumers is three years for anything delivered from 1 January 2022. Saying so on the site prevents half the arguments and costs nothing.

  • Electrical installation certificate

Low-voltage electrical installations that require it are evidenced by the authorised installer’s certificate, registered with the competent body. If you offer this on the site, say that it is included and who signs it.

  • Official complaints form

Premises open to the public in Catalonia must hold official complaint forms and say so visibly — including when the service is contracted online.

Who this page is for

  • Car, motorbike and bicycle workshops
  • Locksmiths, electricians, plumbers and HVAC installers
  • Carpenters, glaziers, painters and flooring fitters
  • Refurbishment firms and building-maintenance companies
  • Trades that travel to customers across one comarca

What we won’t tell you

  • To build a page for every town in the province. If you don’t go there, you don’t build it: that gets detected and penalised.
  • That you need paid ads from day one. The profile and the service pages come first, and they have no monthly fee.
  • That quotes will pour in within a fortnight. A competitive local search takes months to move.

Do I really need a website if everything comes by referral?

You need it the day referrals slow down, and by then it is too late to start. On a small budget the best return is a properly finished Google Business Profile plus three or four service pages: that is what puts you in the phone search, which is where urgency gets decided.

How many area pages should I have?

Only for the areas you genuinely travel to, and with different content on each: what you do there, how fast you get there, which jobs you have done. A page per municipality in the comarca with the same text and the name swapped doesn’t rank, and it can damage the rest of the site.

Is the form any use if I’m always on site?

That is exactly why it arrives on your phone already sorted, with the address as a map link: so you can accept or decline from the van without ringing. Most lost quotes are lost by taking a day to reply, not on price.

What about reviews?

They get asked for as the job finishes, which is the only moment people write them, with a direct link to the profile. What we don’t do is publish them on your site without explaining how they’re verified: since RDL 24/2021 that is an unfair commercial practice.

Where does work come from when it doesn’t come from referrals?

Tell us what you do and how far you travel. We’ll tell you which pages you need and what it costs, within 48 working hours.
