Websites and apps for Nou Barris businesses
A district of neighbourhood retail and trades that work across the whole city. What is needed here is cheap to build, and almost nobody builds it.
A business in Nou Barris doesn’t need a three-thousand-euro website, and anyone selling one is overcharging. It needs to turn up when the neighbour searches on a phone, and to receive an enquiry without it getting lost in a WhatsApp thread.
What does set this district apart is that many of its trades don’t work here: the electrician from Roquetes does jobs in the centre and the workshop in Verdun repairs for half the city. Their site has to talk about the service and the area covered, not the neighbourhood the premises are in.
Two facts about the district
-
Nou Barris is the Barcelona district with the lowest disposable household income per resident in the city.
-
The district was formed from neighbourhoods built in the middle decades of the twentieth century to house arrivals from outside Catalonia.
Where we get around
- Via Júlia
- Plaça Major de Nou Barris
- Canyelles
- Roquetes
- Virrei Amat
- Parc Central de Nou Barris
What we build around here
Only two trades, deliberately. They are the two where this district genuinely changes the brief; inventing four more would be exactly what we are trying not to do.

Neighbourhood retail and services
Here the price gets looked at before the photo. A catalogue with prices shown and stock kept current sells more than any redesign, and costs a fraction.
Everything we build for neighbourhood retail and services -
Trades and workshops
The workshop is here but the work is across the whole city. The site has to rank by service and by the areas you travel to, not by the street the shutter is on.
